The way
Source of Inspiration, Moodboard Woman BOBKOVA
BOBKOVA collections are about the harmony and integrity of women. Despite the country's politics, the pandemic, wars, and fleeing, peace and love cannot be broken within a strong individual. We speak of women as writers, thinkers, researchers of their country's cultural heritage and values, philosophers in search of their roots. Salvation from the metropolis to the island, solitude, meditation, intellect - these provide inner strength.
Recycling and sustainability
We continue to talk about sustainability in fashion, reimagining and repurposing old items, fabrics, yarns, preserving BOBKOVA's values, and creating a new perspective on peace preservation. Our special recycling technique is rooted in Ukrainian culture - the technique of knitting from fabric scraps, known as "grandmother's rug".
Crafting the Collection: a Designer's Artistry
Based on the mood board of the upcoming collection, the designer prepares sketches using pencil and watercolor markers. All fabrics, hardware, and yarn are sourced by Kristina Bobkova in Italy, prioritizing natural eco-friendly materials, high quality, easy maintenance, and a pleasant feel against the skin.
BOBKOVA Team's Artistry: Tailoring the Patterns, Crafting the Collection
Our pattern designers meticulously craft the templates, while tailors skillfully create prototypes and garments. All fittings in the collection are overseen by the designer and stylist, using tailoring mannequins and models. Each centimeter of the cut is honed to perfection; innovative sewing technologies are explored, and the necessary hardware is carefully selected. BOBKOVA takes great pride in its artisans!
BOBKOVA fashion show
Over more than 20 years of operation, BOBKOVA has produced over 40 shows in Kyiv (Ukrainian Fashion Week) and worldwide. For the last 4 seasons, we have been participating in Berlin Fashion Week, expanding our international influence.
Collaboration BOBKOVA with Ukrainian artist Polina Moroz
The inspiration for the collection stems from the shape and hues of the mallow, the flower which is woven through Ukrainian culture and symbolises protection. It is reflected in the print of the collection created by Ukrainian artist Polina Moroz. The colour palette of the collection includes vanilla, milky lime, dusted rose, blush, and greyish beige, reflecting the subtle tones of the flower as well as bold and fresh colours such as lavish green and sunny yellow found in the typical landscapes of Ukraine.
Accessories by BOBKOVA
For each collection, the designer creates accessories - earrings, rings, brooches; pendants, necklaces and hairpins. Mallow, a symbolic flower of Ukrainian culture, is believed to protect the home from enemies. The porcelain earrings and necklaces, adorned with various colors and delicately accented with gold, are meticulously handcrafted by Ukrainian ceramic artist Jeva Smith. These floral adornments evoke an image of feminine beauty, reminiscent of the delicate petals of mallow blossoms.
MRIYA rings
The bold MRІYA rings, featuring pink and white gold plating, draw inspiration from a feminine brass knuckle and are named after the Ukrainian aircraft. MRІYA, meaning "dream" in Ukrainian, symbolizes faith and hope for Ukraine's victory.
